5 questions

What is the difference between vinyl wrap and PPF?

+
Vinyl wrap is primarily for colour change and aesthetics — it covers your vehicle in a new colour or finish. PPF is a clear or coloured urethane film designed to protect your paint from rock chips, scratches, and UV damage. You can use both: PPF underneath for protection, vinyl wrap on top for colour.

What VLT percentages are available for window films?

+
TeckWrap window films are available in 5%, 15%, 20%, 30%, and 70% VLT across our Zenith, Fortis, and Helios Nano Optical series. We also offer specialty tints including Cosmic Purple and Sunset Pink. Check local legal requirements before tinting — permitted VLT varies significantly by country and by which window is being treated.

Are TeckWrap products certified and compliant?

+
Yes. TeckWrap products comply with RoHS and REACH standards. Our films are UV resistant and meet international quality and safety requirements for all major markets including the EU, US, and Asia-Pacific. Documentation is available on request for tender and compliance purposes.

What is air-release technology and why does it matter?

+
Our adhesive is embossed with microscopic channels that let trapped air escape as you squeegee, rather than forming bubbles you have to pierce and chase. In practice it means faster installation on large flat panels, less relifting, and a cleaner finish for installers who are still building their technique.

How do I know I have received genuine TeckWrap film?

+
Every genuine roll carries an authenticity verification code. Counterfeit film is a real problem in this industry and it fails in ways that damage the installer's reputation, not just ours. If a code does not verify, contact us with your supplier details.

Installation

4 questions

Can I install the wrap myself, or do I need a professional?

+
Full vehicle wraps are best done by a trained professional — the difficulty is not the flat panels, it is the recesses, bumpers and door handles. Smaller panels, roofs and interior trim are well within reach of an experienced DIY enthusiast. TeckWrap provides free video tutorials and installation guides, plus All-in-One Master Sets with the tools you need.

How much film do I need for a full vehicle?

+
As a rough guide: a compact car needs around 15–18 metres, a mid-size sedan 18–21 metres, and a large SUV or pickup 22–25 metres. Complex body lines, colour-shift finishes and any pattern that must be aligned will increase waste, so add margin rather than ordering exactly to calculation.

What temperature should I install at?

+
Aim for a stable indoor environment between 18–25°C. Cold film is stiff and fights conformability; hot film overstretches and distorts colour. Post-heating to the temperature specified in the series data sheet is what resets the film's memory so it stops trying to return to flat — skipping it is the most common cause of edges lifting.

Do you offer installation training?

+
Yes — technical training is included in our dealer and certified installer programs, covering the techniques that reduce material waste and customer callbacks. Free written guides and technique videos are available to everyone regardless of partnership status.

Durability & Care

4 questions

How long does vinyl wrap last?

+
TeckWrap vinyl wraps are rated for 5–7 years outdoors with proper care. Lifespan depends heavily on climate, UV exposure, and maintenance. Proper washing and avoiding high-pressure washing directly on edges will extend the life significantly. Horizontal surfaces — roof, bonnet, boot — always age faster than vertical panels.

Does vinyl wrap damage the original paint?

+
No — quality vinyl wrap actually protects your original paint from minor scratches and UV fading. When removed properly using heat, it should leave no residue on factory paint in good condition. The caveat is factory paint in good condition: wrap applied over resprayed, peeling or previously damaged paint can lift it on removal.

How soon can I wash the vehicle after wrapping?

+
Wait 72 hours. The adhesive continues curing after installation and washing too early can disturb edges while the bond is still developing. After that, hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo and keep pressure washers well back from any seam.

Can wrap be removed and replaced later?

+
Yes. Wrap is designed to be reversible — that is much of its appeal over a respray. Removal uses controlled heat to soften the adhesive so the film peels rather than tears. Film left well beyond its rated life becomes brittle and removes in fragments, so plan removal before it fails rather than after.

Ordering & Partnership

4 questions

Do you offer sample kits before placing a bulk order?

+
Yes. TeckWrap offers physical A4 sample packs for vinyl wraps, PPF, and window films so you can see and feel the actual product quality before committing to a full order. Screen colour is never a reliable guide to a chrome or colour-shift finish — always sample those in person.

How do I become an authorized TeckWrap dealer?

+
TeckWrap has dealer and distribution programs available worldwide across three tiers — Certified Installer, Authorized Dealer, and Master Distributor. Contact our team with your business details and location and we will confirm territory availability, usually within two working days.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

+
Minimums depend on the program tier and product line. Certified Installers can order in single rolls and by the linear metre; Authorized Dealers and Master Distributors have volume commitments that unlock the corresponding pricing. Exact terms are confirmed in writing during onboarding.

Which markets do you currently supply?

+
We supply more than fifty countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Territory availability varies — some regions are already committed to a master distributor, in which case we will introduce you to them rather than compete with them.
